Was super excited when I found affordable fresh hazelnuts in France! They are normally so expensive in Shanghai and when roasted, these were so yummy and chocolatey. And I’m not even a fan of nuts, but I loved the aroma and the homemade hazelnut butter that I made with these. Back then I only had a tiny food processor but it still came together nicely. Dash in some cocoa powder and there you have homemade nutella!
These tarts had double hazelnut flavor – in the crust as well as the hazelnut ganache filling. Really rich and decadent perfect for any chocoalte lovers, yet the homemade hazelnut flavor provides an interesting touch that makes you come back for more.
