Ingredients
Lemon Donuts adapted from Honeysuckle 1 1/4 cups flour Glaze: 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar |
To make lemon donuts:
Mix the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. In another bowl, mix together the wet ingredients (vegetable oil, milk, egg, white vinegar, and vanilla). Now, mix together the wet mixture with the dry mixture and stir until its combined. Fold in zest of one lemon. Be careful not to overmix! Now put the batter into a piping bag and squeeze it into a donut pan. Pipe each donut about 3/4 of the way full and bake at 350º F for 10-12 minutes. After it’s done baking let it cool completely on cooling rack while working on the glaze. To make lemon glaze: Mix together the Powdered Sugar, and lemon juice in a bowl. Look for a thick consistency. If it’s too thin then simply add a little more powdered sugar. When the donuts are completely cooled, dip the molded, round bottom side into the glaze, place it on a cooling rack, and let the excess drip onto the baking sheet. |

I tried out a different recipe for this and did not like it at all. Would definitely recommend sticking to the one I always use for my baked donuts, which I will share below!
